Overview

Nestled in the heart of Rome near Piazza Navona, Chicken Hut - Rome offers a vibrant take on classic doner kebab fare infused with diverse flavors. This modest eatery on Corso del Rinascimento delivers authentic, halal-certified dishes that blend Middle Eastern and South Asian culinary traditions, making it a compelling stop for both locals and tourists seeking a flavorful and affordable meal.

The menu’s standout items include the richly spiced Chicken Biryani, tender Tandoori Chicken served with roasted potatoes, and a variety of kebab plates that cater to traditional tastes with a contemporary edge. For those looking for something lighter, fresh options such as the Grill Chicken Salad and Mixed Salad balance the richness on offer. Vegetarians are also well catered for with a delightful Veggie Burger made from vegetable cutlets, served with crispy onion rings and fries, proving the kitchen’s commitment to inclusivity.

The burger selections are notably appealing, with the Original Super Burger variants providing a satisfying crunch and depth of flavor through combinations of cheddar, crispy onions, and savory sauces. The Fried Chicken and French Fries here receive consistent praise, delivering a quality often compared favorably to well-known fast-food chains—yet with a distinct homemade touch.

The dining space is cozy and intimate, best suited for quick meals or casual gatherings. While seating is limited, the experience is enriched by the warm hospitality of the owner, whose background spans Bangladesh and Malaysia—adding a unique multicultural warmth to the atmosphere. This personal touch, combined with considerate gestures like offering a prayer space and complimentary traditional desserts, enhances the overall dining experience beyond the food alone.

Chicken Hut - Rome positions itself as an accessible option for those craving halal Middle Eastern and South Asian flavors in central Rome, with a particular appeal to travelers, local workers, and anyone seeking satisfying street-food style dishes with a genuine personal touch. The blend of authentic taste, friendly service, and a convenient location makes it an inviting destination for a quick, flavorful bite in the bustling city.

Very close to Piazza Navona making it so convenient. The owner is really friendly and can speak some Malay since he worked in Malaysia before :) Decently priced and food tasted good too. Had their fried chicken, hot wings and chicken briyani. All was good. The owner gave us some free baklava too, really nice of him.

This kabobs place is absolutely amazing! The meat was perfectly seasoned, tender, and juicy, and everything tasted incredibly fresh. The portions were generous, and the rice, salad, and warm bread were the perfect sides. Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere make it a spot I’ll definitely be coming back to!

Good place with a nice halal restaurant offering many options—from shawarma and fried chicken to fries and biryani. The biryani was especially good, and the other items were good as well. The staff were friendly and welcoming. One of the best things is that there is a place to perform Salah, which really helped me as a traveler. Overall, a very good place.
